Some years I struggled financially to get all of the books and materials I thought my children needed for the school year. One yea, I even bought generic grammar books from the local thrift store. That was very difficult. No lesson plans or pre-made tests and quizzes. More was laid on my shoulders. With five children eager to learn, I did not feel my time should be sucked up in one subject for only one or two of my children.

But I learned. Plan ahead. Buy what I can on sale a year in advance.

That said, I plan on having a booth at Alton’s Junk-In-The-Trunk yard sale. I will have books from all ages available at an inexpensive price. I have a microscope and other homeschool student aids available. The books for sale have been pre-read. No swearing, bedroom activities, or disrespect unless it’s punished. These are clean books.

Starting off and continuing my children’s education was a challenge to keep ahead of them in reading, without having poor books. From time to time, I upgrade or shrink my book supply.

Besides, I look forward to meeting fellow readers and homeschoolers!
